Welcome To Herrington Model Boat Club
Our Logo
Hello and welcome to a new and hopefully exciting year at Herrington Model Boat Club.
We start the year in the best possible way, by welcoming on board three new club members with their model boats.
So far we have escaped the Winter freeze, with undisturbed sailing throughout the Winter, Sunday gatherings are as popular ever with many boats turning up.
A mixture of the old faithful models with a sprinkling of new models which is always positive.
There are several new models moving from the building board towards the water, and I know there are several rather special petrol engines in the pipeline, so 2012 looks to be a very interesting year!!
The intention for the year is to run the Monthly Club days, dates will be announced soon for these, but remember, you have to be in it to win it. There are new challengers to each class this year so early season points may well prove to be decisive!!
Running alongside the club day championship will be an informal and fun review at the end of the year of broken engines – all photographic evidence towards the “piston broke” championship gladly accepted – rather sadly, the way the year is going, your Chairman is currently leading this, closely followed by one Mr.Trevor Potts. Keith Mallam is waiting in the wings to scoop the trophy toward the end of the season when he pushes his tired engine just a little too hard!!
Hopefully, with weather permitting, Bank Holiday Open Days will be on the cards once again, a chance to showcase our club and allow the public to get closer so t hey understand what we are and what we do.
This is also a great opportunity to raise funds for local charities and enable all Park users to give something back to the local community.

This site is aimed at Remote Control model boat enthusiasts.
Herrington country park model boat club are looking for new members for the club. We hope to encourage and advise people on the different types of model craft, by holding exhibitions and by simply talking to members of the public, as we sail our boats. We welcome all questions and are always eager to show and tell!
All types of boat are welcome; we have members who sail yachts, nitro, petrol and electric.
Any enquiries please pop down to the Park any afternoon although if you're after a show Saturday's and Sunday's see the most power boats on the jetty!
For those who wish to see the peaceful yet majestic yachts, mornings are the best time when it is not so busy in the Park.
